Virlanie’s ILead ODC-ET holds graduation ceremony for supported mothers

Twenty-two (22) mothers and young women from Virlanie’s ILead Open Day Center for Education and Training (ODC-ET) Quiapo had completed their baking, cooking, sewing, and beauty care training. They are now ready for new beginnings as graduates.

With the help of AccorHotels Group, Aide Et Action, Department of Science and Technology, Association Mondiale Des Amis De L’Enfance and their incredible, generous support in changing the lives of families in disadvantaged communities, reaching out to more families in need of livelihood, especially mothers, has become possible.

“Salamat sa Virlanie Foundation na nagbigay sa akin ng chance, at di lang sa akin kundi sa mga batchmate ko po na talagang nakatulong sa amin financially po. The time na napunta ako sa Virlanie, as in walang-wala na po talaga ako. Bagsak na po ang business ko, wala akong work (I thank Virlanie Foundation who gave me a chance, and not just me but my batchmates, too, because it (trainings) have helped us a lot financially. When I first got into Virlanie, I really had nothing. My business dissolved and I had no job),” says Liezl Leones, one of the mothers who completed their training, and now owns a baking business, “one day pala, pag ito yung dream mo, pag talagang nasa puso mo na matuto, ipagkakaloob din yan ng Panginoon (you’ll never know that one day, if it really is your dream, if it is really in your heart to learn, God will provide it for you).”

The ceremonies were capped off by sharing a feast of baked and cooked goods made by the graduates, showcasing the talent and skill they had learned throughout the series of trainings they underwent.

Through Virlanie’s ILead ODC-ET training programs, we help create more learning and livelihood opportunities for families in disadvantaged communities. To see more of what happened that day, check out the photos below:
