Virlanie Mobile Unit celebrates Christmas with Street Communities

The Virlanie Foundation, Inc. Mobile Unit team organized a Christmas Party and gift giving program to its communities in Aroma, Metropolitan, Delpan and Divisoria last December 18, 19 and 21, 2019.

The Christmas Party and Gift-giving program is a yearly activity that aims to give the street families, especially their children a Christmas experience that most families celebrate every year. This year, Aroma (Tondo, Manila) and Metropolitan (Makati City) communities experienced a Christmas celebration for the first time.

The Theme of this year’s Christmas Party is “Ang Tunay na Diwa ng Pasko ay isa-puso. Pagbibigayan at Pagmamahalan dahil tayo’y isang pamilyang nagbibigay ng pag-asa.” (The True Meaning of Christmas should be in our Hearts; Generosity and Love because we are one family giving each other hope.)

The Delpan and Divisoria area also celebrated their annual Christmas Party in Masaya Home with the help of Oliver Tolentino, a Filipino Fashion Designer and his team.

“We are truly blessed and grateful that we are given another chance to visit the kids here in Virlanie,” said Orb Facundo, a representative of Oliver Tolentino who helped organized the Christmas Party program in Masaya Home.

The parties had a short program where children participated by showcasing their talents and more fun and games were played by the Virlanie beneficiaries.

A long-time volunteer of the Mobile Unit, Michael gave his testimonial about the Christmas Party activities.

“I was once supported by a foundation when I was young. Since I am now a professional, I always wanted to give back to the community by teaching children and hopefully, help them become good individuals someday,” said Michael.

Oliver Tolentino is a famous Filipino Fashion Designer who is known for his clothing designs worn by celebrities both from local and abroad. He has been generously sponsoring the Virlanie Mobile Unit since 2006.
