Inauguration of the new Open Day Center in Bacolod

Last September 29, 2017, Virlanie Bacolod team inaugurated our new Open Day Center (ODC) in Bacolod City, which will provide social, education and health services to Bacolod’s vulnerable children.

After successfully getting funds from its main sponsor, the Kingdom of Belgium as represented by Enfance Tiers Monde, Virlanie envisions to support 1,500 vulnerable children and children-at-risk in the next five years through its ODC in Brgy. 18, Bacolod. ODC will also foster skills development to help children take a step forward and sustainably transform their life.

The inaugural ceremony included the traditional ribbon cutting and inspired speeches.

In the freshly painted building, our Program Director Sara Vial, the city’s Vice Mayor Hon. El Cid Familiaran, Virlanie Foundation’s founder Dominique Lemay, German Bullolaza, representative of the Congressman’s representative Hon. Greg Gasataya, our main sponsor Johanna Vandamme representing Enfance Tiers Monde and the Kingdom of Belgium as well as the former house owner and future partner for our internal clinic Dr. Ver Lacson also shared their speeches to inspire everyone to keep on supporting the ODC.

Among those who attended were our local partners, Virlanie Social Development Center staff as well as many city and provincial officials attended. The center aims to provide a platform where all of these stakeholders and partners can come together to offer their services for these children.

Moving forward, the team will add admin accountant, life coach/psychologist and teacher to their members for the program’s operations.
