Virlanie Buwan ng Wika Celebration 2022

Buwan ng Wika (Month of Language) is observed in the Philippines the entire month of August every year. 

It aims to:

  1. fully implement Presidential Proclamation No. 1041;
  2. raise the awareness of the Filipino people about the language and its history;
  3. encourage different governmental and private agencies to join in programs like this that increase linguistic and civic awareness;
  4. encourage the Filipino people to appreciate the languages of the Philippines by actively participating in activities related to the National Language Month; and
  5. Komisyon ng Wikang Filipino can be introduced to the Filipino people as the government agency that takes care of the languages of the Philippines through its language programs.

This year’s theme is “Filipino at mga Katutubong Wika: Kasangkapan sa Pagtuklas at Paglikha”. 

In Virlanie, we conducted a simple but engaging celebration through art activity, declamation and a Filipino Family Feud game on each residential homes and Virlanie staff. Everyone enjoyed the celebration. Game winners were also announced at the of the program.
