At the end of September, the nominees had the chance to prepare a campaign to defend their candidacy. “It’s something they do not necessarily realize, but presenting yourself as a representative for the ILP is something he/she can add on his/her resume,” continues Ate Faidah. “It’s true that it can become stressful, but it’s really a chance to show a sense of initiative and responsibility. There is something to be proud of.”
The 2nd day of October was organized by the young people of the program—from speech to games to activities with the public (parents of different Houses, program representatives, etc. The teenagers managed everything, budgetting for refreshments and coordinating with the various departments of the Foundation in order to have the necessary equipment for the day.
“I am very proud of what they have been able to accomplish in a very short time,” says the coordinator of the ILP program. “For this election day, I was rarely present. They truly took charge and proved they were capable of great things. The newly elected members are highly motivated and brimming with ideas. They have already planned many activities to serve the children of the neighborhood. They even planned to set up a tutoring and a homework help for the younger children. ”
ILP aims to support and empower young adults to become autonomous and independent. Thanks to the endowment fund set up by the AccorHotels group, Solidarity AccorHotels, fifty young people of the Foundation are accompanied towards a global autonomy through programs of social and professional training.
