A healthy trip for the Virlanie kids

July 27, 2014 – The Magellan Learning Center had their first educational field trip this year to Gourmet Farm in Silang, Cavite. The field trip aimed to expose the children to the traditional, healthy and organic way of farming and as well as to prepare for the culminating activity of the Nutrition Month Celebration.

The staff of Virlanie Foundation travelled to Silang, Cavite together with kids from Masaya Home, Drop-In Center, Tanglaw Home, Ella Yallah Home and the Marco Polo Care Center. The children from the said homes were able to participate in the program and activities led by the Gourmet Farm Executive Staff, Kevin Seth Mendoza and Chef IcoMolera.

The activities started with an interactive tour around the farm for the children to see different kinds of vegetables being harvested. The next activity was the Salad Demonstration where the staff showed different types of fresh salad and how it is made. The last activity for the children was the Lunch Treat prepared by Chef IcoMolera who is very known for his salad dressing and sauces. The ingredients of the Lunch Treat for the children are fresh ingredients that came from the farm. The children enjoyed the fun-filled activities that were in store for them. Surely, Gourmet Farm was able to give smiles to the children of Virlanie Foundation.
