John Patrick’s (JP) journey began in the walls of Virlanie’s Babies and Toddlers Home (BTH), where he, like many other children, awaited the opportunity to be embraced by a family. His early years were marked by uncertainty, but little did he know that a life-changing chapter was about to unfold.
Four years ago, the lives of JP and his adoptive parents – Judy and Thomas Trojanowski intersected in a moment of destiny. The adoption process was an emotional rollercoaster filled with paperwork, interviews, and anticipation. After months of waiting and praying, JP became an integral part of their family. They adopted JP in April 2019 and live in New Jersey, USA. While the couple embraced their new roles as parents, they remained aware of the importance of maintaining a connection with JP and his previous home.
After embarking on their life-changing journey, the Trojanowski family decided to revisit the place where their adopted child’s story began. Arriving at the BTH home brought a flood of emotions for both JP and her adoptive parents. The house parents and social workers at BTH warmly welcomed the family, creating a safe and comforting space for everyone involved.
Judy shared her thoughts about the rewards of being an adopted parent. “We are lucky to have JP in our lives. The caregivers did a great job. He was well prepared and ready when we fetched him. He didn’t give us a hard time.”
Andrea, BTH’s lead house parent and who once took care of JP, shared as well her feelings regarding the visitation of the family. “I am thankful that they have time to visit. I didn’t expect that after 4[LF1] years they could make it. I’m happy because the development of JP is great. They’re like a real and complete family, which is at the very start what we are praying for JP to find a family.”
