Virlanie Foundation's Teachers' Week Celebration 2022

World Teachers’ Day is held annually on 5 October to celebrate all teachers around the globe. It is a day to celebrate how teachers are transforming education but also to reflect on the support they need to fully deploy their talent and vocation, and to rethink the way ahead for the profession globally. It has been celebrated since 1994. This year the theme for World Teachers’ Day is “The transformation of education begins with teachers”. (Unesco.org, 2022)

In celebration of the World Teachers’ Day, Virlanie teachers devised an exercise that allows the children to pretend to be a teachers for a week. From Monday to Thursday, they designated a student to function as a teacher, and he or she is responsible for teaching his or her classmates. Aside from presenting a lesson, there’s also an activity where students apply what they learned into practice, such as buying and selling in the market with paper money, the egg drop challenge, the historical quiz bee, and many more.

The Virlanie Teachers were so proud of their pupils because they saw how they can pull themselves up to become teachers for a day! 🙂

Congratulations mga bata, job well done! – Teacher Joyce (Event Head Facilitator)

The celebration ended last Friday, October 7, 2022 with a mini gathering of all the Teachers in Virlanie Foundation.

We salute to all Teachers! All their hard work, efforts and care to the children are much appreciated!
