Virlanie Foundation's Celebration of Growth and Dreams of the Children
Each year, Virlanie Foundation conducted its annual tradition of Recognition Day, honoring the achievement and perseverance of the children under our care. The celebration was divided into three days per core program: Residential, Street, and Community showing Virlanie’s unwavering commitment to providing holistic care and dedication to transforming the lives of the children.
The Residential program recognized the accomplishments of children living in Virlanie’s homes, where they receive love, care, shelter, education, and other support. The awarding for the Residential Program was held at Magellan Learning Center (MLC). The program is entitled Acknowledgement Day – “Kabataang Pilipino Para sa Matatag na Kinabukasan ng Bagong Pilipinas.”
The Street program honored the resilience and growth of children in street-based situations who are part of Virlanie’s Walk Your Way to School (WAYS) project, focusing on their transition to school readiness to achieve a brighter future. One of the awardees shared her experience as part of the WAYS Batch 4 and how grateful she was for this program in equipping her to read and write better.
The Community program featured children who benefited from Aral Laro Aliw para sa Bata (ALAB) project. A series of sessions, highlighting and focusing on children’s rights awareness, facilitation of arts activities as one way of self-expression and honing their skills, tutorial sessions, while enjoying at the same time through games and sports activities.
Virlanie Foundation is a private, non-profit & non-sectarian organization dedicated to empowering disadvantaged children to reach their full potential and their families to prevent the cycle of inter-generational poverty in the Philippines. It operates various programs and shared services, such as residential, community, and street programs, health, education, and independent living services.
