In March 21 2024, a devastating fire swept through Aroma, Tondo in Manila, displacing hundreds of families and children. The Virlanie Foundation immediately launched an urgent call for donations, resulting in an overwhelming response from individuals, corporations, and other organizations.

The donations provided critical aid, including food, clothing, hygiene products, kitchen utensils, and other basic needs, significantly easing the immediate suffering of the affected families. All relief packs were distributed in seven tranches helping a total of 49 families and 110 children under our Street program beneficiaries.

Virlanie also offered a stress debriefing activity led by our residential psychologist from the Health Services team to help children and their families cope with the trauma.

This collective effort highlighted the power of community solidarity and compassion, demonstrating how unified action can bring hope and relief in times of crisis. Virlanie continues to focus on long-term recovery by assessing them in rebuilding homes, restoring livelihoods, and providing street education, ensuring the Aroma community can rebuild and thrive once again.

Virlanie Foundation acknowledges the support of Concentrix, Hinduja Global Solutions, Virlanie France, Virlanie Suisse, French International School of Manila, Telus, Ms. Esmeralda Tagatac for their generous donation; and Mabini Hood Volunteers and Brgy. 105 Staff for their help in the distribution of relief packs to the affected families and children in  Aroma, Tondo.
