Virlanie Community Program held 9th training graduation ceremony in Bagong Silangan

Last November 22, Virlanie’s Community Program held its Baking and Pastry Training Completion Ceremony for the newest graduates at Brgy. Bagong Silangan Quezon City.

The Community Program seeks to strengthen families to prevent abuse and neglect of children and youth.

Eighteen trainees (18) which is composed of 16 mothers and 2 young men graduated from the baking and pastry training program. The graduates and staff were also joined by the Local Government Unit officers of Barangay Bagong Silangan to celebrate the trainees’ success.

Virlanie Community Program has held 8 trainings in Bagong Silangan before. Since 2017, Bagong Silangan mothers and young adults have been offered vocational trainings. In 2018, community-based baking and beauty care trainings have also been conducted. For this 9th batch, it is the first time that Virlanie was recognized as a partner by the Local Government Unit through livelihood trainings.

“It is our privilege to be partnered by Virlanie through livelihood trainings, our community needs this kind of trainings and we thank Virlanie for that. To the graduates, congratulations! All the knowledge that you’ve learned… use them and practice for the betterment of your life. This will mark as the good start for your own journey,” Brgy. Chairman Wilfredo L. Cara, shared.

Ezekiel Balane, 19, one of the only two men in their batch, was awarded as the Class Valedictorian of the 9th batch graduates.

“I was shy at first, because all of the trainees were mothers, but I pushed myself to go through, and now I can’t believe that I graduated the training through perseverance and willingness to learn. This is such a great blessing for me,” Balane shared.

The ceremony was ended by healthy lunch prepared by the training graduates.
