Mokpo National University visits the Virlanie Foundation for partnership and volunteering opportunities
Virlanie Foundation welcomed Korean students from Mokpo National University last January for their volunteer work. They consist of 16 students and 4 staff who embarked on a one-week journey to connect with Virlanie beneficiaries. The collaboration, which focused on art, music, dance, cooking, and Korean language activities, not only brought happiness to the children but also fostered cross-cultural understanding.
Mokpo National University students and Virlanie Foundation beneficiaries engaged in a variety of activities designed to stimulate creativity, encourage self-expression, and build lasting connections. The volunteers introduced innovative and interactive learning activities to make education enjoyable. From educational games to hands-on experiments, these activities aimed to ignite a passion for learning among the beneficiaries.
The Virlanie Education Services Coordinator, Ms. Dolly Alejandro, shared her appreciation regarding the successful volunteerism activity: “Everything is organized. The Korean student volunteers are well prepared, from the activities to their materials. The whole volunteer journey had a great impact on the Virlanie children; they were very participative. The arts and crafts of SiBuHi were revived. The last session was very enriching, and you will acquire a lot. It was a two-way learning: volunteers can learn something from the child and vice versa. We highly encourage the people who are planning to volunteer in Virlanie. Please don’t hesitate to reach us, especially volunteering in SiBuHi”.
Through art, music, dance, cooking, and language activities, this one-week volunteerism program has sown seeds of friendship and solidarity. The partnership is a testament to the life-changing impact that volunteerism can have on creating a more compassionate and connected global community.
Thank you, Mokpo National University! Kamsahamnida!
