Giving Back The Smile to Street Children

The Virlanie Voices

The Choir was created in August 2004 to perform at a benefit dinner in honor of Her Royal Highness Princess Caroline of Hanover. Since then, the Choir had sung at more than 70 events for companies, organizations, royalty, and most of all, for friends who have supported the Foundation.

The Virlanie Choir is composed of children and young adults from the different Virlanie Homes and the outreach urban poor communities - individuals who have shown an exceptional inclination and passion for music.

They are led and supervised by their Choirmaster and Musical Director, Ms. Ma. Lourdes Hermo, a well-acclaimed choirmaster who also directs the Ateneo de Manila College Glee Club and teaches as a professor in St. Scholastica’s College of Manila.

The Choir serves not only as Virlanie's musical ambassadors but also as a bridge between different cultures as they have learned to sing songs in Filipino, English and French languages, with their inspirational repertoire ranging from folk, religious to contemporary genres.

Singing is one of the ways in which our children can express their emotions and feelings. By performing in front of an audience, our children develop their self-esteem and assertiveness, and improve their confidence.

Something exciting is coming for the Virlanie Voices this 2018!
