On Sunday October 12, 2017, 20 of Tanglaw and Masaya kids enjoyed an afternoon of creation and fun, taking part in a painting workshop themed “Ugnayan sa Poblacion” – a project led by La Taverne Gutenberg, a French-based artistic center.

Four artists led the workshop for 3 groups of children. One of the groups worked on portraits, while another did some hand painting inspired by Lascaux cave paintings. The third group tried geometrical shapes, inspired by Matisse’s collages.

The children had a lot of fun and showed exceptional creation skills. Each piece is different, just as their artists.

The aim of La Taverne Gutenberg’s program is to create artistic international exchanges and share their passion for art with the poorest of the poor, by giving art workshops to their partner NGOs specializing in helping street children and youth at risk.

The children’s creation will be exhibited at Museo Pambata on November 29, 2017. Come and appreciate their works of art!
