Giving Back The Smile to Street Children

Goblin Run 2017: a Sofitel meaningful endeavor for the children of Virlanie

Posted on 11/27/17 in General News

On October 29, 2017, families and fitness enthusiasts gathered for the Goblin Run, a charity fun run organized by our long-term partner, Sofitel. This event has also been organized in collaboration with one of the country’s leading running event organizer: Thinksportsph.

A total of 1,800 participants gathered at Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila for the Goblin Run. Among them were 130 Virlanie children and 30 Virlanie staff.
The fun started at 4 P.M. with a Halloween-themed foam cannon as the run took participants through a panoramic view of metropolitan Manila of the CCP Complex. Exciting obstacle courses like inflatables, water cannon and net under crawl awaited runners in this thrilling Halloween fair.

The excitement continued at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila Harbor Garden Tent where fun treats, goblin-mansion themed photo booth, face painting activities and special games were in store for kids and kids-at-heart.
This year, Sofitel was able to raise PHP 650,000 for Virlanie Foundation. These funds will help us to continuously protect and empower children for a brighter future.

Sofitel has been committed to bring back the smile to street children for 8 years now and their partnership with Virlanie has brought meaningful projects and initiatives like Teach to Reach, Run for Smiles Half Marathon, and has supported the Independent Living Program for our the young adult beneficiaries. Currently, they are also involved in our A Virlanie Christmas campaign.

From all the staff and beneficiaries of Virlanie Foundation: thank you Sofitel and runners for supporting our cause!
