Virlanie girls represent NCR, advocate ending child marriage in the Philippines

Rosemarie and Danchelle, two of our young adult benificiaries from Elizabeth Home, pursued their advocacy activities in the frame of the “Creating Spaces” campaign, aiming at ending child early and forced marriages in the Philippines. They represented the National Capital Region (NCR), along with fellow youth leaders, during a leadership camp for youth advocates organized by the Philippine Legislators' Committee on Population and Development (PLCPD) and partner organizations last November 19 to 23, 2018, in Bukidnon, Mindanao.

Virlanie children join Tulay ng Kabataan Foundation’s #SavedByLove Competition

In celebration of Tulay ng Kabataan (TnK) Foundation’s 20th Anniversary, 40 children from our residential homes and partner communities participated in their #SAVEDBYLOVE Competition last November 3, 2018 at the Ateneo de Manila High School Covered Court and Track Oval in Quezon City. Around 2,000 children from nine foundations catering to street children joined the said competition.

Virlanie celebrates National Children's Month 2018

Spearheaded by Virlanie’s Education Pillar, a day-long National Children’s Month celebration was held last November 17, 2018 at the SiBuHi area. With the theme "Isulong: Tamang Pag-aaruga Para sa Lahat ng Bata! (Bring forward: Proper care for all children!)", fun and informative activities for children, young adults, and staff were prepared by Virlanie staff and the Rising Youth (Virlanie, young adult organization). Among the activities that took place were the opening parade, child rights-themed games, poster and slogan-making contests, and a "Panatang Makabata (Vow for the Children)" oath-taking ceremony.

Virlanie children celebrate Halloween with Johnson & Johnson

Children from our Aime, Masaya, Tanglaw Homes, and Marco Polo Care Center celebrated Halloween at the Johnson & Johnson compound last October 25. They participated and enjoyed the different games prepared by Johnson & Johnson employees.

Sarap Cafeeling: the coffee shop fundraising event by The Rising Youth

Sarap Cafeeling is an initiative launched by The Rising Youth - the Virlanie Young Adult Organization - to raise funds for Virlanie's Mobile Unit Programs. From 3 pm until the end of the evening, SiBuHi became a real coffee shop and welcomed the everyone in an evening full of music, spoken poetry, inspirational talks, board games, raffles, and most specially, delicious food and amazing service from the Rising Youth members.

Health Services Program conducts First Aid Training to Virlanie Houseparents and Caregivers

Last October 19, houseparents and caregivers were given a First Aid Training, focusing on infectious diseases, proper handwashing, and treatment of wounds and burns, at Virlanie’s Elizabeth Home.

Virlanie's ILead ODC-ET holds graduation ceremony for supported mothers

Twenty-two (22) mothers and young women from Virlanie’s ILead Open Day Center for Education and Training (ODC-ET) Quiapo had completed their baking, cooking, sewing, and beauty care training. They are now ready for new beginnings as graduates.
