As the newly elected President of The Rising Youth, a young adults’ organization under Virlanie’s Independent Living Program, Rosemarie, 18, always takes the role of facilitator among her fellow young adults. Her honesty in expressing herself and her eagerness to learn and attend trainings made her stand out among other adolescents of her age. There was no doubt that Rosemarie has the potential of becoming a great leader. That’s why it didn’t come as a surprise that she qualified as one of Virlanie’s participants in an issue orientation and policy advocacy training for youth leaders on ending child, early and forced marriages (CEFM).
Sofitel Manila, a long-time partner of Virlanie Foundation, has recently relaunched its Teach to Reach program last June 21, 2018. The program, which started way back in 2005, is in partnership with Virlanie’s Magellan Learning Center in helping children cope with their academic difficulties. Teach to Reach also aims to promote volunteerism among Filipinos in an effort to uplift the current situation of street children.

Happening at DLS CSB Taft Campus’ Augusto-Rosario Gonzalez Theater, IncluED will gather over 200 youth leaders, local government officials, community leaders, and members of the academe and civil society all over the country in advancing and “redefining inclusive education in the Philippines”.
Last May 10 and 11, Virlanie’s Craft A Smile offered these bags and eco-jewelries in a pop-up store called Love, Anak (Son/Daughter) at Virlanie headquarters. The pop-up store was manned by our young adults as part of their training and exposure to social entrepreneurship. Staff and volunteers happily grabbed this opportunity to get Craft A Smile products to give to their mothers and special women in their lives for Mother’s Day. In doing so, they also helped the street mothers who made these products.
