iLead ODC-ET: More than the certificates, empowerment and opportunities for a better life

“These certificates [of completions] must not only be framed and hung on walls, but must also serve in providing income to help sustain the needs of your families,” said ODC Director Ferdie during the 3rd Training Completion Ceremony in Quiapo, Manila where 18 mothers graduated from their training courses under the iLead Open Day Center Education and Training (iLead ODC-ET) Program last February 27, 2018.

Virlanie children spend Valentine’s Day at the Manila Ocean Park

In celebration of Valentine’s Day, children from our BTH, Aime, MPCC, Masaya, and Tanglaw Homes were taken out for a day tour at the Manila Ocean Park by volunteers from Deloitte Philippines last February 14, 2018. A total of 30 kids (13 toddlers from BTH, 9 kids from Aime Home, 3 kids from MPCC, and 5 kids from Masaya and Tanglaw Homes) experienced the different attractions of the marine theme park.

Before their 4th European Tour this April, our very own Virlanie Voices will showcase their enchanting voices with a send-off concert at the College of Saint Benilde – School of Design and Arts (CSB-SDA) Theater this coming March 17th. The concert will be launching the choir for their European tour and participation in the upcoming Montreux Chorale Festival.

The Rising Youth elected its officers for 2018

Last November 17, 2017, Virlanie’s young adult organization, The Rising Youth (TRY) elected their new officers for 2018. All Virlanie staff, along with the young adults, themselves, voted for their best candidates. The final tabulations were held at the office with the supervision of teachers from Magellan Learning Center. It was a close fight between the two presidential candidates, Rachelle (63 votes) and Lannie (56 votes).

Virlanie holds first Family of Smiles Reunion for supporters

While Virlanie Foundation, Inc. has its Christmas campaign on going, it held its first A Virlanie Christmas Noche Buena: Family of Smiles Reunion at Cool Beans Library Café in Maginhawa, Quezon City this December 8, 2017. The event served as a gratitude to the continuous support of donors, sponsors, and media partners for the foundation.

Virlanie shines at the Sofitel Christmas tree lighting event

Our very own children’s choir, Virlanie Voices, performed at the Sofitel Christmas tree lighting last November 21, mesmerizing the crowd with their voices as they sang Christmas carols for the audience. The event was not only to showcase the choir’s vocal finesse, but also to promote Virlanie’s holiday fundraising campaign, A Virlanie Christmas.

Goblin Run 2017: a Sofitel meaningful endeavor for the children of Virlanie

On October 29, 2017, families and fitness enthusiasts gathered for the Goblin Run, a charity fun run organized by our long-term partner, Sofitel. A total of 1,800 participants gathered at Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila for the Goblin Run and Sofitel was able to raise PHP 650,000 for Virlanie Foundation.

Virlanie joined Congress’ Children Month Celebration

Every November, the Philippines is celebrating National Children’s Month, where children are recognized as an important pillar of society. This year, Virlanie joins Child’s Right Network and the House of Representatives Committee on the Welfare of Children in their initiative to bring Children’s Month to Congress.

Halloween party in Virlanie: Come as you are, as long as you “dress your best”!

On Friday, October 27, 2017, Virlanie kids, house parents and volunteers “dressed their best” to celebrate Halloween. Each home of the residential program as well as kids from iLead ODC-ET and Mobile Unit gathered in Marco Polo Care Center (MPCC) to show their creativity and talents.

Virlanie Sports Fest 2017

On October 13, 2017, all Virlanie staff gathered in Carmona covered court for a day of games and bonding. Virlanie Sports Fest is Virlanie’s annual Olympic games, a part of the HR-led series of team building events on the theme “Staying strong, Staying connected.”
