On the last day of January 2019, Virlanie staff and children celebrated the 23rd National Autism Consciousness Week at the SiBuHi Sports Room. Organized by the Special Education (SPED) and Rehabilitation Programs of Virlanie's Education Pillar, the event included informative lectures on autism, motivational videos, and entertaining performances from our children.
Twenty-four participants from 6 Asian countries (Philippines, Cambodia, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Nepal, and East Timor) and 2 European countries (Spain and Portugal) gathered in Solace Hotel, Makati City Philippines for the Training of Trainers on Social Street Work. The training is under the ASYA (Advocacy for Street based Youth work and Networking Action) project, co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.

This year, the Virlanie Christmas campaign is themed "bayanihan", the spirit of mutual aid and community cooperation, deeply rooted in Filipino society. In the same bayanihan spirit, AccorHotels group shows community cooperation towards the same goal of welfare of children through the long-time partnership with Virlanie.

Virlanie SiBuHi conducted an art exhibit last December 17, to recognize the visual artistic talents of the kids and young adults under Virlanie's care. It is hoped that through this exhibit, they will be encouraged to create more meaningful pieces to express themselves.

On Wednesday 6th December 2018, the Belgian Ambassador Michel Goffin visited the Virlanie-led Open Day Center in Bacolod.
Having arrived in the city on December 5, Goffin accompanied Program Director Sara Vial, Virlanie founder Dominique Lemay, and Enfance Tiers Monde (ETM) General Secretary Johanna Vandamme to the Social Development Center (LGU partnered of Virlanie) and while dropping off the beneficiaries of the day at their homes.
During the holiday season, most people wish to spend Christmas with their own families. Unlike most of us, many children are unable to spend the holidays with theirs. To celebrate this season of love, our children were reunited with their families for a day of fun games and good food.
