These services help all the children in our Residential Program and some of those in the Outreach Programs. The Support Services help them with their academics, psychological and emotional well-being, and their personal development. These complement what the Homes are giving the children.
MAGELLAN LEARNING CENTER
Virlanie Foundation sees education as one of the key factors in child development. Therefore, the team of educators at the Magellan Learning Center gives tutorials (Mathematics, English, Physics, etc.) and other supplementary lessons (Mental Mathematics, Computer Lessons, etc.) in order to help the children overcome their difficulties in school. This is crucial, especially for the children who have never been in a classroom. The team reinforces the children's education level and helps them build their self-confidence so that they can prepare to face the challenges of being a student.
The children below 6 years old are prepared to go to primary school. They learn their alphabet, counting, and how to write their names. Since its creation in 2002, the learning center has been managed by Filipino staff members who are familiar with the country’s educational system.

These activities reinforce the children’s self-esteem and self-confidence.
